How to migrate individual taxpayer assets to the CoreTax format

The transition from the legacy e-Filing system to the new CoreTax system requires individual taxpayers to re-map their asset categorization. Done manually one entry at a time, this process is highly prone to formatting errors during data import.

A practical workflow using ZHX Labs' Excel template

Step 1 — Download & unblock the template

Download the Excel template from ZHX Labs. Unblock it via the file's Properties dialog if the macro button doesn't appear.

Step 2 — Enter your data on the "DATA" sheet

Copy your legacy asset list (code, asset name, year acquired, acquisition value) into the DATA sheet.

Step 3 — Run the sorting & XML export automation

Use the SAVE XML or COPY DATA macro button to automatically group everything into the 6 CoreTax categories, ready for upload.
