If you're tax administration staff, a consultant, or part of a company's finance team who has to download and organize dozens to hundreds of PDF files from CoreTax every month — e-Faktur, e-Bupot, annual/periodic SPT filings — this tutorial is for you. We'll cover ZHX PDF Renamer from scratch: installation, activation, batch renaming, and its newer features: Merge PDF, Split PDF, and Export to Excel.

1. Download and Installation
- Download the app
Download from the ZHX PDF Renamer product page.
- Extract the ZIP file
Extract to any folder — no special installation needed, the app is portable.
- Run the app
Run
ZHX PDF Renamer.exe.
2. Free Serial Key Activation
The app is fully free, it just needs a serial key for activation:
- Subscribe & like
Subscribe to the ZHX Labs YouTube channel and like the ZHX PDF Renamer video.
- Send proof
Send a screenshot or a comment on the video via Instagram/YouTube DM.
- Enter the serial key
The serial key will be sent to you — enter it in the activation dialog that appears when you first open the app.
The serial key is tied to one computer. If you switch devices, there's a "Request Device Transfer" option right inside the app.
3. Batch Rename — Basic Flow
- Add files
Drag and drop PDF files/folders into the app window, or click the Add File/Add Folder button.
- Automatic detection
The app automatically reads each PDF's content and detects its document type (e-Faktur, e-Bupot, SPT, Billing, BPE, BPS, or Letter).
- Choose naming fields
On the Type & Fields tab, pick which fields go into the file name (taxpayer name, tax ID, date, invoice number, etc).
- Check the preview
Check the New Name (Preview) column in the table — make sure it looks right before running it.
- Set the output
On the Output tab, set the destination folder and the conflict rule if a file name collides (skip / overwrite / add a sequence number).
- Start the rename
Click Start Rename. The app shows a summary first (file count, document types, problem files) before actually running it.
- Undo if needed
If something's wrong, open Tools → Rename History and click Undo Batch — file names revert to what they were.
Documents marked "Unrecognized" can still be renamed manually using a custom pattern like {counter:03}_{name}.pdf.
4. New Feature: Merge PDF
Need to combine multiple documents into one file (e.g. a set of SPT attachments)?
- Open the Merge PDF menu
Open Tools → Merge PDF...
- Add files
Click Add File (or Add Folder to grab every PDF at once).
- Arrange the order
Reorder pages with the Up ▲ / Down ▼ buttons — the list order top to bottom determines the page order in the result.
- Pick the output location
Click Choose Location... to set the result file's name and folder.
- Merge
Click Merge. A progress bar shows which file is currently being processed.
5. New Feature: Split PDF
On the flip side, if you have one large PDF and need to break it up, open Tools → Split PDF..., then choose one of 3 modes:
- Every page becomes a separate file — good for splitting per-page attachments.
- Every N pages becomes 1 file — e.g. every 2 pages into one file, when every document always has the same page count.
- Custom range — type it manually like
1-3,5,7-10when the split isn't uniform.
Resulting files are automatically named after the pages they cover, e.g. report_pages1-3.pdf.
6. New Feature: Export Data to Excel
Once every file is loaded and read by the app, you can export a recap directly without renaming first:
- Open the export menu
Open File → Export Data to Excel...
- Choose the save location
Choose where to save the
.xlsxfile.
The resulting file contains 2 sheets:
| Sheet | Contents |
|---|---|
| Summary | File name, document type, party name, tax ID, date, and status (including a "NEEDS CHECK" flag if the tax ID format looks suspicious) |
| Full Detail | All raw data extracted from the files, useful for audits or further recaps in Excel |
Handy as an attachment for monthly reports or a cross-check before filing.

7. Troubleshooting
Why is a document marked "Unrecognized"?
Usually the document format isn't supported by the parser yet, or it's a scanned result (not a native PDF). Use a manual naming pattern as a workaround, e.g. {counter:03}_{name}.pdf.
What does a tax ID marked "Needs Check" mean?
The app detected a digit count that doesn't match the expected format (not 15/16 digits) — verify it manually before proceeding with the rename.
